Progressive Party - January 2020
Your HOA #8 Social Committee were thrilled with the response & support towards our first annual Progressive Wine & Appetizer Happy Hour which saw 78 of our neighbors come out to enjoy a fun evening featuring food & wine, on Saturday, January 18th from 4-7 p.m.
Each guest was asked to bring along a bottle of wine & appetizer to the first home they visited. The food was abundant! We were all amazed how creative & generous everyone was with their contributions. As a result, friends & neighbors all got to sip wine & nibble on delicious appetizers at all three homes they visited. After 40 minutes, each couple drew a number at their host home, then moved onto their next home which mixed “things” up so everyone got to meet new people. Finally, after another 40 minutes chatting, eating & drinking, everyone visited the final home not yet visited, meeting new people, yet again.
We thought it might be fun to gamble a little and host 50/50 draws at our social events. Half the jackpot goes to the winning ticket and the other half goes towards financially supporting future social events. We sold tickets for $5 each or three for $10 and raised $335!!! The winner, who received ½ the total jackpot, was Ron Siwa who was gifted with $177.50. Congratulations Ron!
We cannot host this annual event without generous neighbors willing to open their homes. A special thank you to the evening’s “hosts”, Frankie Luizza & Leslie Amick, Dan Gutzmann & Karl Edison, and Tammy Preast & David Campbell for opening up their personal homes to host this progressive happy hour event!
